Get back to work - from career break to the workplace

Searching for work after taking a career break can be a daunting task. Over the past few years social networking has revolutionised both the way companies recruit and how job seekers stumble across opportunities. The old saying 'It's not what you know, but who you know' comes into play here. Today people build networks of contacts from roles past and present on Linkedin and other professional social networking sites, it is not uncommon to hear about a job in the pipe-line from a 'connection' on Linkedin nor is it unsual to be approached directly by recruitment agencies looking for the right candidate for new positions.

If all of this is news to you or you are unsure how to make use of social media tools or where to start with building your online presence, our ‘Back to the workplace’ seminar will be taking place on 29 November. Leading online recruitment and social media expert Eileen Brown from Amastra will explain how you can build and deliver a compelling online personal brand and show you how to develop your online presence to seize potential job opportunities.

Angus Farr from Training Counts will provide top tips on C.V and covering letter writing as well as advice on how you can account for your career break in your C.V and in interviews.

Make sure you are using your time wisely and making the most of all of the avenues available to you when looking for your next role; book your place on ‘Back to the workplace’ today.
