During a recent trip to the North West of England, I took the opportunity to canvas members’ views on the above topic.
I freely accept that I was expecting answers around removing the regulatory burdens on business, a more competitive taxation system, perhaps even certainty in the business environment to aid planning. It was none of these.
The clarity and simplicity of the consensus answer should make all of our politicians pause – it was honesty.
