Shipley or Cumbernauld?
In the absence of a payslip are you frantically looking for information to help your clients pay their tax? We set out a couple of tips and links to help you save time in the search.
Paying tax electronically
HMRC has confirmed that payment by internet or telephone banking can be sent using either the Shipley or Cumbernauld bank account.
The HMRC website is confusing in that it provides bank account details for both Shipley and Cumbernauld and the misconception is that you need to know which a client is allocated to. The answer is you can use either. HMRC is in the process of changing banking arrangements and the website will be updated in due course.
See HM Revenue & Customs: How to pay Self Assessment for more information on paying tax.
Paying tax by cheque – a reminder
We attach a link to a note published in June 2009 about where to send cheques, where you will also see that it does not matter whether clients are allocated to Shipley or Cumbernauld. Paying tax – where to send cheques
