SA returns going in but there are processing delays
HMRC has published a service issue note warning that taxpayers and agents may experience delays before SA online accounts are updated.
Self assessment tax returns are being submitted and their receipt acknowledged, but there is then a delay before the ‘View Account’ and 'Tax Return Option' pages are updated. Repayments are also being held up.
We are told that these delays are due to the exceptional high level of returns being submitted and you are asked to allow 72 hours to allow for the updates to take place. Repayments will be processed as soon as possible.
