Amendments to SA returns preventing access to online system
If you have amended a self assessment tax return, you may find that you are unable to access the self assessment system.
HMRC is aware of the problem and has posted the following message on its service issues page:
System Error message on log in – updated 11 March 2010
‘We are aware that some customers are receiving a system error message when trying to log in to the online service. The customers affected will have already submitted both an original return and an amendment. This issue is being investigated by our IT service partners and we are working towards the soonest possible resolution for our customers. HMRC would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this issue may cause.
