HMRC system planned downtime

Systems upgrade planned for Easter holiday weekend

HMRC implements its major systems upgrades twice a year. The precise timing of the Easter shut down has yet to be announced, but we do know that it will happen.

The latest position is that all affected systems will be available until 13.00 on Friday 2 April but will then be offline until 6.00am Tuesday when normal service will be restored. The exception is NPS which may need to close earlier at 7.00am on Friday.

Neither taxpayers nor their agents will be able to access the HMRC portal between 6.00am on 3 April and 6.00am on Tuesday 6 April but some systems may only be unavailable for a certain period. Full details will be published on the service availability page of the HMRC website.
