Claiming compensation from HMRC

For weeks I have been unable to file CT600s online because HMRC have taken weeks to transfer my clients from one agent code to another.

 

This is yet another HMRC "inefficiency" which when added to a long list of other errors is costing me £000s every year. I'm not alone in this as evidenced by this comment in another discussion

If I could bill HMRC for the time they cause me to waste they would be my biggest client!

At the moment I feel like charging HMRC whenever they waste my time (within reason of course!) Listening to a recorded message about how much information is available on the HMRC website and being disconnected after three minutes because they are too busy to deal with my query seems to be the norm.

Do other members think this is worthwhile? And if so, will I become a "marked man" with HMRC?

Finally, what does the Tax Faculty think?

P.S. Please do not mention "the joint statement on service delivery issued by HMRC & the tax bodies" as I'm too old to wait for that to make a difference! :-)
