2013 BIS Cyber Security Breaches Survey - We need your help

Her Majesty’s Government recognises the importance to finding ways to improve the profile and transparency of information about breaches of cyber security so that businesses are more aware of the threat and impact. The department for Business, Innovation and Skills has commissioned PwC and Infosecurity Europe to survey UK businesses on their cyber security experience and ICAEW is supporting this research. This is the latest in the series of information security breaches surveys that has run since the early 1990s.

The results of this survey will provide greater awareness amongst UK business of the risks, how companies are mitigating (or not) those risks and key trends.  It will also provide information to enable companies to benchmark themselves against others in their sector or beyond.

For this year’s survey, we’ve tried to make it easier for people to complete, by breaking the survey up into a series of four online polls, each of which should take you only 5 minutes to complete.

The first of these polls is now available for you to answer here http://goo.gl/zsa9T. It covers how many security breaches you have had in the last year. There are 26 questions.

This survey is being conducted in accordance with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct, which guarantees confidentiality and anonymity. Under no circumstances will your organisation be identified in the survey report.

In return for your participation, we are holding a prize draw for all those who complete the questionnaire with a prize of an iPad for the winner. There’s a separate prize for each questionnaire and an extra prize for people that complete all four polls, so complete all four polls for five chances to win.

In addition, we’ll also send you an electronic copy of the survey results when they’re published in April. At the end of the questionnaire, we’ll give you the option of providing your contact details, should you wish to receive these benefits. Your contact details will be used solely for this purpose.

Thank you for participating in this year's survey. We can't do it without you.
